I used an x-acto knife, super glue and a mostly-steady hand.<\/p>\n<p>The actual man design specifications are apparently not published. But the org did share <a href=\"https:\/\/journal.burningman.org\/2008\/07\/black-rock-city\/building-brc\/getting-a-head-of-ourselves\/\">a blog entry<\/a> in 2008 focusing on the man head design, suggesting it is accented subtly from year to year.<\/p>\n\n\n<p>Initially, I tried to measure photos of the man head to get a feel for the length of each side, but ultimately just improvised until I had something that looked about right.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/skylarkcollective.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/man-head-ornament-03-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-117\" srcset=\"https:\/\/skylarkcollective.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/man-head-ornament-03-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/skylarkcollective.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/man-head-ornament-03-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/skylarkcollective.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/man-head-ornament-03-450x600.jpg 450w, https:\/\/skylarkcollective.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/man-head-ornament-03.jpg 1000w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 709px) 85vw, (max-width: 909px) 67vw, (max-width: 984px) 61vw, (max-width: 1362px) 45vw, 600px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The face lattice has five vertical lines and nine horizontal. Each crossing is notched on both sides, which meant 90 cuts not including a few mistakes. The project took about four hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A few friends suggested doing a large 3D one in the place of an angel at the top of the tree.
